COS, QOS AND PNT
COS, QOS AND PNT... Let's
clear up the terms. It's all the same. AT&T uses COS (Class
Of Service) and PNT (Private Network Transport). Others use the
term QOS (Quality Of Service). Here is a good tip; When dealing
with 2nd tier MPLS carriers you can tell what network they are
using to piece it together by the term they are using. If they're
talking QOS they are most likely not using AT&T . If they're
talking COS and PNT they are piecing it together with AT&T.
It's just crazy out there
with all these web sites offering MPLS quotes I've seen sites
offering 25 quotes from 25 different carriers for MPLS quotes.
On the same page they will sell you DSL, POTS lines, Frame relay
some even offer residential service.
Ask yourself, do you really
want someone who may have just hooked up a residential customer
ordering your network? Or, do you want a dedicated team that's
dedicated to AT&T's MPLS IP VPN's?
I suggest you get quotes
from those sites. You will find that the quote you receive from
our site will be right in line with the quotes out there from
other carriers.
Remember.. We have access
to three different Brands and your quote will come from the AT&T
Brand with the best pricing.
Three
Additional Reasons Why You Want AT&T MPLS
First Reason: AT&T was the first US carrier to deploy
MPLS. It's like the 80's and 90's all over again. AT&T went
through 4 phases of there network to get the offering where
it is today.
Second Reason:
AT&T beta tests in AT&T labs. Before
a product goes to market AT&T has been known to offer the
product as a beta and in most cases no charge for the service
while it's in beta.
Third Reason: The
80's and 90's were brutal in the Telecommunications industry so
many companies launched services not ready for market. Here are
a few, DSL was sold 12K feet from the CO. Integrated T-1, UNE-P,
how about VOIP without MPLS. Back then if you were smart you wouldn't
jump on a new service unless AT&T was also offering it. New
carriers were launching new networks based on theory to gain market
share. AT&T MPLS evolved in the US through the joint effort between
AT&T and Cisco. Just like the 80's and 90's, the companies
that emerged from that era of less than stable service are claiming
the ability to provide secure reliable MPLS . We do trust and
provide T1's from other carriers If you are looking to purchase
T1 we do offer all the carriers

Knowledge is Power!
Finally you'll be in a position of power to make an
educated decision. |
Remember... Some companies are lazy and
don't do the research. Others just order from their existing
carrier, You on the other hand want to do your homework.
Overwhelmingly, most companies choose AT&T
MPLS for their network. Companies that don't go with AT&T
seem to do so for two reasons.
1. They received poor pricing from AT&T
and it's just not in the budget. Remember... your getting rock
bottom MPLS pricing.
2. They just didn't do their homework.

By W. David Gardner InformationWeek December 10, 2007 11:47 AM AT&T (NYSE: T) announced Monday that it has lit its coast-to-coast IP/MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) network, which delivers speeds of up to 40-Gigabit on the backbone network. The company said the network is the first of its kind and doesn't need multiplexing capability on its 50,000 wavelength miles. The network connects major U.S. cities and includes 18,000 miles of optical ultra-long- haul routes that eventually will be able to carry customer voice and data traffic at speeds of up to 100 Gbps. AT&T competitors Verizon Communications and Qwest Communications are also building and enhancing 40 Gbps networks. 'As the demand for Internet and IP-based applications continues to explode, IP traffic on the AT&T network has doubled throughout the past two years,' said John Stankey, group president of Telecom Operations at AT&T, in a statement. 'We fully expect this substantial growth to continue in the future.' AT&T noted that the new nationwide backbone carries a variety of IP-based services ranging from wireless data and business video to data and voice services as well as private line and wavelength traffic. The network also services IP-based residential services and provides Web access for the company' 13.8 million DSL and AT&T U-verse customers. "
